Description
Usage
Determine the length of your regular menstrual cycle by measuring the time from the start of one period to the beginning of the next, considering the first day of bleeding or spotting as day 1. Review the records of your recent months to establish an average cycle length.
Once determined, mark the cycle length in the first line of the chart below and identify the corresponding numbers (days) in the second line. Next, count the numbers in the second line starting from the first day of your menstrual cycle; this will indicate the time when you can commence your detection.
When using standard ovulation tests, begin testing several days before you expect your LH surge to begin. If your cycles are irregular, or you have no idea when you ovulate, you can start testing 5 days after your period ends. For the best results, it is recommended to have at least 10 test kits.
Test Procedure
Before use please prepare a timer.
- Ensure the sealed LH test pouch, urine sample, and control solution are within the room temperature.
- Remove the LH test strip from the sealed pouch.
- Immerse the strip into the urine with the arrow end pointing towards the urine.
- Do not immerse past the MAX (marker line).
- Take the strip out after 5 seconds and lay the strip flat on a clean, dry, non-absorbent surface.
- Wait for coloured bands to appear.
- Positive results may be observed within 40 seconds depending on the LH concentration in the test specimen. However, to confirm negative results, a complete reaction time of 5 minutes is required.
Interpretation of Results
No LH Surge: If only one colour band appears in the control region or if the test band is lighter than the control band, it indicates that there is no LH surge present.
LH Surge: An LH surge is confirmed when two colour bands are visible, with the test band being equal to or darker than the control band. This suggests that ovulation will likely occur within the next 12-36 hours.
*Do not read results after more than 10 minutes.
It is important to note
- Reduce your fluid intake for 2 hours before testing.
- Do not use the very first urine of the day to test, it might give a false positive due to a high concentration of the luteinizing hormone.
- The recommended time to test is between 10 am and 8 pm.
- When you see a positive that’s the double lines, you will be ovulating in the next 12 to 36 hours. Try and have intercourse within that time frame.
